DAV Centenary Public School Una opened its portals in 1986 and the Directorate of Education, Himachal Pradesh Shimla issued a letter of NOC in June 1986.It got affiliated to CBSE in May, 1987. The extension of affiliation is up to 31-3-2028 having affiliation no 630028. It is a Co-educational, English Medium, Senior Secondary Public School, known for its quality results in academics and sports. It is one of the largest CBSE affiliated DAV institutions of HP having more than 1800 students. The school is housed in a magnificent triple storey building situated on Nangal-Una road about one km from main bus stand. The newly constructed modern junior wing, with playway equipments, caters to the requirements of tiny tots.

There is a great thrust to distinguish knowledge from information and to perceive teaching as a professional activity, not as coaching for memorization. This school has made every attempt to empower the teachers accordingly, so that the curriculum transaction truly reflects the shift in educational paradigm. The school provides the best routes for entering the IITs, Medical & Engineering colleges and other professional courses. In order to raise the further standard of education, the institution, with co-operation of teaching staff, will adopt new methods and techniques of education.

Genesis:

The History of DAV School, Una dates back to 1911. It is the oldest DAV institution in the state. Right from the establishment of the school, students have been excelling in academics, sports and co-curricular activities. Students are trained for life, to be high achievers and good human beings.

Management:

The school is under D.A.V College Managing Committee, New Delhi, which is the largest private educational organization in the country managing more than 750 educational institutions. DAV was founded in 1886 to spread modern quality education blended with vedic thoughts. The LMC of the school has been constituted by DAMCMC New Delhi. Justice Pritam Pal(Retd.) is the Chairman, Sh. Balwinder  Singh is the Vice chairman, Sh. Ravinder Talwar is the Manager of the school. The term of present LMC is till December, 2025.
